​SEA Teacher

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) SEA Teacher Project—also known as the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia—is an international exchange program launched in 2014. Its primary aim is to enhance the quality of teacher education in Southeast Asia by providing pre-service student teachers with international teaching experience.

Through this program, selected education students from SEAMEO-member countries are given the opportunity to conduct teaching practicums in partner universities across the region. These include countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, among others.

SEA Teacher Project Promotes:

  • Cross-cultural understanding by immersing student teachers in diverse classroom settings across Southeast Asia.

  • Professional development through hands-on teaching experience and collaboration with international peers.

  • Enhanced teaching skills by exposing participants to various educational systems, strategies, and classroom management techniques.

OBJECTIVES:​

  • Promote cooperation in education, science, and culture among Southeast Asian countries.

  • Enhance regional understanding and mutual respect through educational and cultural exchanges.

  • Advance the quality of education by sharing resources, expertise, and best practices.

  • Support sustainable human development through innovative and inclusive educational programs.

  • Foster lifelong learning and regional integration to address 21st-century challenges.
